My Achieve2B Story
“I FOUND MY VOICE!”
Inaugural Regional (National) Exchange Student – Whangarei.
4 weeks in duration.
In Term 1 2017 Tash was Achieve 2B’s first ever Regional (National) Exchange student. Tash left her home in Auckland for 4 weeks. She moved from her city life to a rural setting in Whangarei. She went from a co-ed school to a girls school at Whangarei Girls High School. Achieve 2B was able to ensure that Tash’s disability supports of a Teacher aide and home help were in place before she arrived in Whangarei. During her exchange Natasha volunteered at the Hospice Shop.
Tash advised that from this exchange she found her voice. She is confident enough now to express her opinion, define herself, and to look forward to the future.
